Our days on the Transamerica have for the most part fallen into a simple routine. Get up, repack, eat, cycle, eat, cycle, eat, set up camp, clean up, sleep. Generally, we’re outdoors all day long. So on our afternoons or days off in towns that are big enough to have one, we’ve loved going to a movie theatre. It’s a treat, an escape to our old everyday life, and in middle America, it’s cheap! Like half-of-Los-Angeles price cheap. So we’re loading up on the summer blockbusters. So far we’ve gotten to see:
Iron Man - awesome, good old robot on robot action.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - surprisingly good from an aging Indiana Jones, I didn’t expect as much.
Made of Honor - forgot it already, but I’m sure it was cute.
The Incredible Hulk - good performances and choice of settings, but the special effects and the boom factor went overboard.
Get Smart - pure joy, it took me back.
Wall-E - great story, funny, and great commentary on where our society is going...aimed at kids.
Hancock - alcoholic a**hole with superhero powers. Hilarity ensues.
So there you have it. You get to see ALL the summer blockbusters on the cheap. Yet another great reason to jump on your bike an cycle across the country
