Techers on the TransAm!

image
There are more techers on the Transamerica Trail! What are the chances?  Two friends from Caltech - Aaron Hicks and Guillermo Letona - along with Guillermo’s sister Ana and Ana’s son Tony are westbound on the TransAm, and they happen to be in Missouri at the same time as us.  They’re taking a northern route across the state, but since they were on their day off today, they were really nice and they rented a car and came down to meet us in Marshfield, MO, a five hour drive away.

Thanks guys, that was awesome of you!

We drove out to the Springfield Brewery for dinner and had a great time exchanging tips and stories of our experiences on the TransAm.  It was a relief to hear that we’re not the only late starters, and that there’s another group out there that was as naively optimistic as we were at the beginning.  We got some great tips on places to stay, and told them about the pies and the ice cream in Kansas (Braums..mmmmm).

Comments on Techers on the TransAm!

  1. Running into techers in a random corner of Missouri??  That’s so random, it could only happen to us techers!

Keep pumping those petals, and I’m looking for at least a couple of statistics from your side, C--these days it only seems like I’m getting info from Gaby!

Still appreciate and admire what you guys are doing, buddy… can’t wait for more.

On a side note, Sarah got married last weekend, and now she’s off for an Austrailian honeymoon.  Also, thanks for the postcards, the office gets a kick out of them too.
